Order Bump: increase the average ticket by offering deals directly at checkout

The Order Bump is one of the most powerful apps available to CartPanda users, designed to immediately increase ROI (Return on Investment) by selling additional products at the most strategic moment of the purchase journey: the checkout.

Many merchants miss revenue opportunities by completing the purchase without presenting complementary offers. With Order Bump, you can turn this final step into a direct lever for higher conversion rates and increased average order value — without creating friction for the customer.

What is Order Bump

The Order Bump is a feature that allows you to display exclusive complementary product offers directly on the checkout page, before the order is completed.

In practice, when a customer reaches the checkout, they see a special offer for an additional product that can be added to the cart with a single click. This approach increases conversion, order value, and overall operational efficiency.

How Order Bump works in practice

Order Bump works in a simple and structured way:

  1. The merchant creates an offer in the Order Bump app
  2. Defines the rules that determine when the offer will be displayed
  3. Chooses the product (or variant) to be offered
  4. Configures the discount and the offer design
  5. Activates the offer to be displayed at checkout

Whenever the customer’s cart meets the configured rules, the offer will be automatically displayed at checkout.

How to set up Order Bump

To start the setup, access the left-side menu and go to:

Apps > Order Bump or click here

Inside the app, click New Offer and define an internal name for the offer (this information will not be shown to the customer).

Then, click Edit to configure the details.

⚠️ Important: remember to save at each step to avoid losing your configuration progress.

Offer rules

At this stage, you define when the offer will be displayed to the customer. There are three available options:

  • Always available

The offer will be displayed regardless of cart conditions.

  • Cart total

The offer will be displayed based on the total cart value.

You must define the rule and the minimum value required for activation.

  • Cart items

The offer will be displayed when specific products or variants are present in the cart.

This option allows more precise rules based on the main product or specific variants.

Offer product

In the second step, you choose which product will be offered in the Order Bump.

You can also select a specific variant as the offer product.

⚠️ Note: variant selection is available only for the offer product, not for all cart items.

Offer discount

You can configure the offer discount in two ways:

  • Fixed amount
  • Percentage

The percentage discount field accepts integers only.

Offer design

In the final step, you customize the visual appearance of the Order Bump, including:

  • Offer title
  • Description
  • Offer preview
  • Title background color
  • Description background color
  • Checkbox selection color

Activating the offer

After saving all steps, to activate the Order Bump simply click the Active button.

📌 Attention: if two or more offers meet the same cart rules, all of them may be displayed simultaneously at checkout.

Standalone Order Bump protection

To prevent purchases with incorrect pricing, CartPanda applies automatic protections:

  • The Order Bump is automatically removed if the main product is removed from the cart
  • Checkout is blocked if there is only an Order Bump item in the cart
  • This ensures the discount is applied only when the main product is present, preventing sales inconsistencies.

Performance analysis

In the Analytics tab, you can track Order Bump performance in real time, including:

  • Number of items sold
  • Offer views
  • Revenue generated
  • Conversion rate

These insights help you optimize offers, test variations, and maximize your results.

Conclusion

The Order Bump is a strategic solution for merchants who want to increase revenue without increasing traffic, by leveraging the most decisive moment of the purchase journey.

With advanced rules, variant and subscription support, standalone protection, and comprehensive analytics, Order Bump becomes an essential tool for scaling results with efficiency and control.
